Known as Ty, Terrell won Big Brother Canada 11 in an 8–1 vote before appearing in consecutive seasons of The Traitors Canada.
The official Big Brother Canada 11 cast announcement introduced McDonald as a Toronto personal trainer. He expected competitors to notice his physical ability before his strategic thinking.[5]
In May 2023, he defeated Claudia Campbell by an 8–1 jury vote. His prize included $100,000 in cash, with additional wardrobe and product packages.[1]
Campbell won the last Head of Household competition and chose to take McDonald to the final two. Daniel Clarke’s eviction made him the final member of the jury.[1]
After playing season 3, McDonald returned for The Traitors Canada season 4. In his preseason RHAP interview, he discussed becoming the Canadian programme’s first returning contestant.[2]
For the return, he wanted to rely more on himself and adapt to others’ decisions. He told RHAP that he preferred becoming a Traitor and did not intend to imitate another player’s game.[2]
