At Spring Valley High School, Jean-Charles combined passing and running duties, with more than 1,400 passing yards and 1,000 rushing yards during his junior year. He spent his first two college seasons at Louisville, appearing on special teams, before continuing his career with Maine.[4]
Jean-Charles played all twelve games for Maine in 2019. His assignments covered linebacker, tight end and special teams, with the season producing both receiving and defensive statistics. He recorded twenty-seven tackles, seven receptions and an interception return for a touchdown. He was also named to the CAA Commissioner’s Academic Honor Roll.[4]
One game captured that versatility particularly clearly. In Maine’s 47–31 win over UAlbany on November 2, 2019, Jean-Charles scored through a two-yard touchdown catch and a forty-seven-yard interception return. The official game report records both plays during Maine’s twenty-three-point third quarter. He would later play for the university he had faced that afternoon.[3][5]
At UAlbany, Jean-Charles appeared in six games in 2022 and fifteen in 2023. His final listed season brought 116 tackles and five sacks, along with second-team All-CAA defensive recognition and a place on Phil Steele’s All-CAA second team. He made seventeen tackles against Towson and again earned conference academic honor-roll recognition. Survivor subsequently introduced him to viewers as a personal trainer, bringing a new television setting to his competitive background.[2][3]
