Moyin Odeniran is an Essex political economy student and sprinter who joined The Great British Bake Off in 2026.
Moyin brings Nigerian ingredients into his baking while studying political economy and competing as a county-title-winning sprinter.
Moyin began baking with his mother at five. By 14, he had learned macaronage, the mixing technique used to prepare macaron batter.[2]
His Nigerian heritage informs his choice of ingredients. Grains of paradise and groundnuts are among the flavours he uses in his bakes.[2]
Away from baking, Moyin competes as a sprinter. He has won an under-20 county title in the 100 metres.[2]
He combines political economy studies with a part-time job and athletics. Global Political Thought is one of the seminar subjects mentioned in his programme introduction.[2]
Moyin collects vinyl and enjoys fashion and comedy clubs. Afrobeats, R&B and conscious rap feature in the music he uses to prepare for races.[2]
