Clara Satchell-Silva is a Hertfordshire-based baker and marketing graduate who joined The Great British Bake Off in 2026.
Clara draws on Portuguese recipes and colourful cake design. She won Star Baker during series 17’s Audience Choice Week.
Originally from Aveiro, Portugal, Clara moved to the UK at 18 to study marketing. Hertfordshire was her home base when she entered the competition.[2]
Cake-making became a regular creative pursuit around two years before her Bake Off appearance. She also began making Portuguese favourites, including Tarte de Nata, for her British fiancé and his family.[2]
Clara puts particular care into the look of a finished bake. Fresh fruit and bright colours feature in her work, with decorative ideas influenced by her interest in fantasy.[2]
She won Star Baker in the third week of series 17. The episode put viewer-selected challenges in front of the contestants, including a wearable showstopper.[5]
Animals are another interest. Her official introduction named a spaniel, Gigi, and a pygmy hedgehog, Pecan, among the pets she looks after.[2]
