Hibbert described an upbringing where electricity and water were not consistently available. Joining the show made her realise how much her expectations had changed after years of living with modern conveniences in the UK.[1]
She wanted an experience outside her usual professional environment. Being away from her work phone and computer was initially difficult because so much of her routine depended on checking messages and dealing with tasks online.[1]
Hibbert found the loss of independence challenging, particularly being unable to choose when to cook or spend time alone. She also took turns preparing food when chef Dean Sganga was away from the camp.[1]
She recalled the group having to cooperate immediately to find supplies and establish shelter.[1]
Discovering a second camp changed that balance. Afterwards, she spoke about appreciating reliable services and opportunities that had started to feel routine.[1]
