He plays Jean-Paul Belmondo in Richard Linklater's film about the making of Breathless.[1][3]
Aubry Dullin is a French actor who plays Jean-Paul Belmondo in Richard Linklater's Nouvelle Vague.
Dullin moved from stage work into a widely seen cinema role by portraying Belmondo during the making of Breathless.
An open casting notice led to a performance built through close study of Belmondo's voice, gestures and light physical presence.
The Festival de Cannes person record connects Dullin to Nouvelle Vague in the official competition.[1]
Dullin said his first application video focused on how he spoke and moved rather than a direct Belmondo imitation.[2]
Jeu de Paume listed the film with Dullin as Belmondo for a June cinema date and a July screening.[7]
AlloCiné described Dullin as a newcomer to cinema after theatre work.[2]
Dullin was born in Rennes and moved to Montpellier when he was two; he later studied at Sciences Po Aix before pursuing acting in Paris.[6]
