Carter began dancing at two and joined Bonnie and Betty's agency at five. She told TresA that her first major television commercial followed within months. She also trains and competes in Irish dance.[4]
Her first screen role was Clara in The Alienist. She later played Georgina in The Irregulars, Young Sash in Close to Me and Irina Zubov in The Peripheral, working alongside Chloë Grace Moretz on the latter series.[4]
