Foster plays Sav opposite Sam Yim’s Simone in Lina Suh’s friendship drama. Suh knew both actors before writing the feature and developed the central relationship with their performances in mind.[3]
Suh invited Foster and Yim to work through scenes before production. Foster helped explore how Sav might react in particular situations, giving the director material to develop the character’s background and revise the screenplay.[3]
Foster’s original screenplay became the basis for Gridlock. Writer Kathryn Mincer adapted it for the stage, changing details while retaining the central conflict between a couple whose car journey forces difficult conversations.[4]
For Gridlock’s Edinburgh Fringe debut in 2026, Foster worked as a performer and producer alongside Ibrahim Bakhait. Dominique Mabille directed the small independent production, staged with a confined car setting and flashbacks to the couple’s earlier relationship.[4]
